IPL 2013

After a highly gruelling week of off field matters, the Rajasthan Royals fans and owners will be proud of their boys to have made it so far in the competition. After six years they have qualified for the semi-finals. The last time they qualified they went on to win the title. Could this be their year too?

The Kolkata cricket fans will be geared to welcome the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals to the Eden Gardens for the second Qualifier. This is a do or die game for the loser will exit the tournament. The winner of the game will go to the finals and face Chennai Super Kings for the coveted championship.

Both the teams come into this game on the back of opposite results in the previous matches. Mumbai Indians lost the previous qualifier to Chennai while the Rajasthan Royals beat the Hyderabad Sunrisers in the first eliminator.

When you compare both the teams on paper, Mumbai has a stronger team by-far, but as the saying goes, “the game is not played on paper.”

Rahul Dravid already started playing mind games with a cheeky statement in last games presentation ceremony saying that the pressure will be on Mumbai. He also branded Brad Hodge as the best finisher in the team after his knock of 50 not out kept the team alive in the competition.
Shane Watson will play a pivotal role and he will need to fire with both bat and ball if his team wants any chance of qualifying for the finals. Leading Run Scorers

Mumbai has been consistent throughout the season, but when it comes to crunch games the pressure gets the better of them. Rohit Sharma has been an able captain but has not performed too well with the bat in the last couple of games. He needs to start firing with the bat to ensure that he can take his team to the final.

The injury to Sachin Tendulkar could see him sitting out of this game as well hence giving Aditya Tare another run in the middle. Tendulkar has not done much this season but his mere presence on the field is quite intimidating.

Ambati Rayudu has been an overall disappointment after coming into the tournament with great hopes. Mitchell Johnson will have to be right on the money as he along with Lasith Malinga form a formidable fast bowling pair. Leading Wicket takers
This game is definitely tough to call as the teams are evenly matched.
