Match Updates of Day 3. Match between Pakistan and New Zealand being played at Dunedin.
New Zealand 1st Innings
- New Zealand lost 9th wicket in 131st over – 9-428 (Bond, 130.3 ov)
- M Asif to Bond, OUT! Good length ball which was going down the leg. Bond gets a slight glove on it and that is easy pickings for the keeper. The fielding side are asking the question. Umpire Doctrove raises his finger.
- New Zealand lost 10th wicket in 132nd over – 10-429 (Martin, 131.5 ov)
- S Ajmal to Martin, OUT! ALL OUT! Full length delivery on middle, Martin failed to make contact and was hit low on the pads. The fielding side is asking the question. Umpire Taufel declares Martin OUT.
- Innings Break: New Zealand – 429/10 in 131.5 overs (IE O’Brien 13)
Pakistan 1st Innings
- Pakistan lost 1st wicket in 4th over – 1-11 (Khurram Manzoor, 3.6 ov)
- C Martin to Manzoor, OUT! BOWLED! Just a touch short outside off, Manzoor tried playing it in the covers but has dragged the ball back on to the stumps. Pakistan have lost their first wicket.
- Martin to Imran Farhat, OUT, we have a review here, Martin bowls from round the wicket, lands it on a good length outside the off stump and gets it to angle towards middle and leg, Farhat shuffles, plays down the wrong line and the ball hits him below the knee roll in front of the leg stump, you could see his leg stump at the point of contact and that convinced Doctrove, Farhat calls for the review but Virtual Eye also says that would have hit the stumps
- Bond to Mohammad Yousuf, OUT, terrific reflexes on the follow through! Bond fires this one full and induces the drive, Yousuf awkwardly pushes it through the line and ends up spooning it low back to Bond who dives forward and cups it just inches off the pitch
- Bond to Fawad Alam, OUT, Bond’s breathing fire here, he hits the deck hard from over the wicket, lands it short of a length on middle and Fawad barely had time to react and fend it off, he fails to drop his gloves down and the ball shaves his glove before landing safely in McCullum’s hands
- Bond to Shoaib Malik, OUT, Bond’s in the middle of a dream spell, he cramps him for room outside off and Malik still goes for the cut, there’s a thick inside edge which clips the leg stump
- O’Brien to Umar Akmal, FOUR, that’s his hundred on debut! It wasn’t a bad ball but he improvised superbly and fetched that from the off stump and timed the clip really well past midwicke.
- Vettori to Kamran Akmal, OUT, he chips down the track to take him downtown but he fails to get to the pitch of the ball and ends up getting a thick outside edge to first slip. Pakistan 261/6.
- Bond to Umar Akmal, OUT, he finds Two-meter Peter in the deep! He bends his knee and chases a pitched up delivery outside off, the ball flies off the top half of the bat and lands down Fulton’s throat at deep backward point. Pakistan 293/7.
- Vettori to Umar Gul, OUT, Gul asks for a review, Vettori tosses it up on middle and off and the ball straightens and clips his front pad, Taufel raises the finger, replays don’t reveal any inside edge and Virtual Eye says the ball would have just missed the stumps, it appeared at first that the ball was hitting the stumps. Pakistan 302/8
- Stumps – Day 3. Pakistan 307/8 (90.0 ov). Pakistan trail by 122 runs with 2 wickets remaining in the 1st innings.
