Day 2 of Kanpur test, 2nd of the three Test Jaypee Cup series, witnessed a mixed day, both for Srilanka and India. Indian batsmen hit a century and a couple of half centuries today. Rahul Dravid hit yet another century taking his total to 28 centuries. VVS Laxman and Yuvraj singh scored half centuries before losing their wickets. India were looking good for more than 700 runs at a stage. Last 6 wickets of India fell within 29 runs. Tendulkar was the first one to go today. He made 40 runs. Rahul Dravid was unlucky and was run out of a ball that was hit by VVS Laxman. Herath dropped the catch of Lakshman and ball went on to hit the stumps on non strikers end gaining Dravid’s wickets who was out of his crease. Rangana Herath was star of the day for Srilanka. He claimed 5 wickets today for 121 runs. It was an all spinners show for Srilanka anyways. All the wickets went to Srilankan Spinners. Herath got 5, Murali and Mendis got 2 wickets each. Start of batting wasnt good either for Srilanka. They lost 1st wicket on the very first ball of the match. Tilakratne Dilshan scooped the ball by Zaheer Khan and was caught by Pragya Ojha who is playing 1st test match of his international career.
