A good effort from the home side considering the woe they were wallowing in early. Struggling at 90-5, a superb 106-run partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah guided Bangladesh to a decent total. Both men were circumspect at first but accelerated late on in well-judged innings. With the firepower the Indian line-up possesses, 247 is going to be hard to defend, but at least the bowlers have something to defend.
