ICC announced the groups for 2011 World Cup. Tournament will be hosted jointly by India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Arch rivals, India and Pakistan, South Africa and Australia are placed in different groups which means that they wont face each other atleast in the first stage of the tournament. ICC have emphasised that 2011 world cup will be shorter in length as compared to the one held in 2007 in West Indies. 2007 world cup was criticised for its long schedule. Groups for 2011 world cup are as follow Group A – Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya. Group B – India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands.
