Punjab V Bangalore | IPL 2013 Match 51 Preview | KXIP v RCB

IPL 2013

The Kings XI Punjab will be geared up to take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. This game is in no way a deadweight game as the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hoping to further solidify their chances of progression while the hosts, Kings XI Punjab will be looking to try and stay in the hunt of fourth place.

The Kings XI Punjab enter this game in sixth spot with eight points from the 10 games played but even with a victory will be at least four points off fifth spot. IPL Points Table

Kings XI Punjab’s will have to look for a few individual performances to take them through. They definitely have players like Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchrist that can steal the game away from the opposition in their line-up. The side lost two consecutive games but can take a lot of positives from them. But what has cost the Kings XI Punjab the most is their inability to make their home ground a fortress.

David Miller is probably been the most consistent player in the team as of now and will need to play anchor if the Kings XI want to topple the mighty Royal Challengers and with David Hussey in the line-up in the middle-order we could see some development.

Will David Hussey once again be skipper or will Gilchrist give himself another run? We will have to wait and watch.

As for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, they have the fieriest batting line-up in the Indian Premier League with the likes of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers to name a few. Leading Run Scorers

They are second in the table and two more wins from their remaining five games should give them a very good chance to progress to the play-offs. Six of the RCB batsmen have averages of above 35 and with Saurabh Tiwary proving that he is still worth giving a chance it just shows the power and strength of the batting line-up.

The bowling department for the Royal Challengers Bangalore has been decent as well with Vinay Kumar and RP Singh both in the top ten highest wicket takers.

The pitch at Mohali more often than not is batting friendly, meaning that this game could be a high scoring one. Teams have chased down 185 on the track while the Kings XI has also defended 157.
